Cyberchondriacs" prowl the Web

A recent national survey finds that 110 million adults sometimes go online to look for health care information. Harris Interactive, which conducted the study, found on average, these "cyberchrondriacs" search the Web for this type of information three times a month. Four years ago, about 54 million people surfed the Web for health-related information and that number has grown to 97 million last year. A slender majority (53 percent) of those who look for health care information do so using a portal or search engine which allows them to search for the health information they want across many different websites.
